Dr Mladen Lišanin

Research Fellow

Mladen Lišanin completed his PhD in International and European Studies at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, in 2024. Since 2025, he has been employed as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies, part of the Institute of International Politics and Economics in Belgrade, Serbia.

From 2010 to 2023, Mladen was a researcher at the Belgrade-based Institute for Political Studies. Alongside his research contributions, he held the roles of secretary for the English-language edition of the academic journal Serbian Political Thought.

His academic experience includes time abroad as a Visiting Fellow at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University in Bologna, Italy (2018), and as a Visiting Scholar at the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies at the City University of New York (2023). He is also an active member of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Academic Alumni Network.

Mladen has authored numerous academic articles and reviews published nationally and internationally. His research focuses on a broad array of topics, including international relations theory and history, the balance of power in global politics, great power politics, transatlantic relations, Southeast European regional politics, external actors in the Western Balkans, relations between the West and the Islamic world, foreign policy decision-making, and Serbia’s foreign policy.

A participant in numerous international academic conferences, Mladen is also a member of several professional associations in the field of international studies.
