The Institute of International Politics and Economics was one of the organizers of a scientific conference dedicated to the early deceased Predrag Marić, the long-term Assistant Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia for Emergency Management. The first memorial conference “Predrag Marić” was held at the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade and gathered a number of participants.
Branko Ružić, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Science, Education and Technological Development, addressed the participants during the opening ceremony. In the introductory part, participants were also addressed by Prof. Vladan Đokić, Rector of the University of Belgrade, Prof. Branislav Đorđević, Director of the IIPE and Prof. Vladimir Cvetković, Dean of the Faculty of Security Studies.
The conference was organized in two panels, “Civil Protection and Environmental Protection” and “Disaster Risk Reduction and Crisis Management”, during which participants discussed current issues in the field of civil protection and emergency crisis response.
