Renowned professor of international relations, Dr. Zhang Weiwei, from Fudan University in Shanghai, visited the Institute of International Politics and Economics, accompanied by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Vuk Jeremić.

In a conversation with some of the Institute’s researchers, Dr. Zhang first shared his experiences from his visit to the former Yugoslavia, as well as his experiences in cooperation with Deng Xiaoping, the former Chairman of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of China. The subject of further discussion was the state reform processes, in connection with which Dr. Zhang highlighted the Chinese example, as well as the political, economic and technological achievements of the PRC to date.

Dr. Zhang also spoke about contemporary relations between the People’s Republic of China and the European Union and the role that the United States of America plays in these relations, the possible repercussions of President Donald Trump’s second term on Sino-American relations, as well as the initial similarities and differences compared to the first term of the American president.

During the visit to the Institute, the hosts presented Dr. Zhang with current project activities, primarily the “Compass” and “Perspectives 2030” projects.
