Research Assistant
Nikola Marković has been employed at the Institute for International Politics and Economy since March 2023, as a researcher-intern.
During the period of his higher education, he completed his bachelor studies at The Faculty of Philosophy of The University of Niš – The History Department in 2019. In the same year, he enrolled in a master’s program of history at The Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade – The Department of History of Yugoslavia. His has finished his master’s thesis on the topic The Kingdom of SHS and the Greco-Turkish War 1919-1923 in 2021 under the mentorship of academician Ljubodrag Dimić. Marković continued his education by enrolling in PhD studies in 2022. at The Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade in the field of legal history. For the subject of his PhD thesis he chose The international legality of NATO’s interference in the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991-1995. Marković expressed deep interest in the diplomatic history of the 20th century, the foreign policy of Yugoslavia, the influence of the great powers on the politics of the countries in the Balkans and the role of Yugoslavia in crises and wars in the world.
