Research Assistant
Milan Veselica joined the Institute of International Politics and Economy in March 2023. The main area of his academic interest is the relationship between religion and politics in the modern world, with a special emphasis on the Roman Catholic Church as a transnational religious actor, ecumenical relations, and religious nationalism. Currently, Milan is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade. At the same faculty, he earned BA in International Studies (International Politics) and MA in Political Science (Politics and Religion). The topic of his master’s thesis is ‘Transnational Religious Organizations and Politics: The Relationship between the Roman Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches.’ As a research assistant, he collaborates on international projects conducted by the Bar-Ilan University, Israel: Religion and Territorial Conflict (RTC) (completed), and Religion and State Project (RAS) (in progress). Milan is the secretary of the scientific journal International Problems, published by the Institute for International Politics and Economy.
