The central manifestation within the celebration of 75 years since the establishment of the Institute of International Politics and Economics was the jubilant celebration. The celebration was attended by the First Vice-President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ivica Dačić, ministers in the Government of Serbia, the Rector of the University of Belgrade, the Rector of the University of Defense, the Rector of the “Union-Nikola Tesla” University, deans of faculties, directors of scientific institutions, representatives of the academic community, local governments and the media.
Guests were addressed by Mr. Ivica Dačić and Prof. Branislav Đorđević, Director of the Institute.
In her congratulatory message, the President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Ana Brnabić, praised the Institute for its engagement and results achieved in three quarters of a century of successful work.
Awards were given to individuals and institutions with whom the Institute had achieved exceptional cooperation in the previous period. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the language editors Maja Nikolić and Maja Jovanović, Charters were awarded to the Academic Computer Network of Serbia, the Working Unit “Srbijamarka”, the Faculty of Security of Belgrade University, the daily newspaper “Politika”, the City Municipality of Stari Grad and the Confucius Institute from Novi Sad.
The Institute’s highest award, the Big Plaquette, was awarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Blagoje Babić, doyen of IIPE, Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Dr. Huang Ping, longtime director of the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The annual award, which is given to an employee who has achieved exceptional work results during the year, went to Dr. Nenad Stekić.
Dr. Feng Zhongping, Director of the Institute for European Studies, expressed gratitude on behalf of all laureate via video link.
In the artistic part of the program of the celebration, the choir and the orchestra performed under the artistic direction of maestro Mr. Ivan Marković.
