As part of the implementation of Serbia Accelerating Innovation and Growth Entrepreneurship Project (SAIGE Project) which is implemented by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia with the support of the World Bank, a study visit of representatives of the transformation teams of the Institute of International Politics and Economics, the Institute of Economic Sciences, the Institute of Social Sciences and the Archaeological Institute to Great Britain was organized.

During the visit, which took place from February 2 to 7, representatives of the institutes in the process of transformation, together with the World Bank consultant, Nenad Čelarević, the representative of the SAIGE project, Snežana Đorđević, and the state secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, Vukašin Grozdić, had meetings with representatives of the University of Essex, City University of London, University College London – UCL, the Institute for Government, the UK Government’s body for research and innovation (UKRI), as well as the president of the science committee in the British Parliament.

The central topics of most of the meetings were related to the exchange of experiences in the way of evaluating scientific research work, but also to the creation of additional opportunities for putting research results into the work of state bodies.  Also, the possibilities of establishing cooperation between the respective departments of the host institutions and institutes of social sciences in the Republic of Serbia were considered.

At the panels held at the University College in London and dedicated to the perspectives of the further academic development of the Republic of Serbia in current international relations, as well as the challenges they face in the the process of its economic, social and political  transformations, participated Dr. Ivona Lađevac and Dr. Ana Jović-Lazić, Senior Research Fellows and members of the transformation team of the Institute of International Politics and Economics.
