The central manifestation marking the 77th anniversary since the founding of the Institute of International Politics and Economics was the Ceremonial Academy. The ceremony, held at the Institute’s premises, was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije, ambassadors accredited in our country, deans of faculties, directors of scientific institutions, representatives of the academic community, local governments and the media.
At Ceremonial Academy, the gathered guests were addressed by Mr. Marko Đurić, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Cvetković, President of the Institute’s Governing Board, and Prof. Dr. Branislav Djordjevic, Director of the Institute. The speakers emphasized the importance of the Institute of International Politics and Economics as the oldest and most prestigious scientific institution in the field of international relations in Europe, highlighting its long tradition, extensive international cooperation, and significant scientific achievements that make the Institute a corner stone for the state in analyzing and addressing contemporary and global challenges.
During the Ceremonial Academy, awards were presented to individuals and institutions that had contributed to the Institute’s work over the past year. A certificate of appreciation was awarded to the Music School “Dr. Vojislav Vučković“. Charters were awarded to Prof. Dr. Vladimir Popović, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Milenko Dželetović, Faculty of Security Studies at the University of Belgrade, Dr. Jasminka Simić, journalist at RTS, and Ms. Tatjana Vujić Tubić, journalist at the daily newspaper “Politika“.
The highest award, the Big Plaquette of the Institute of International Politics and Economics for the year 2024, was presented to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Serbia and H.E. Mr. Marko Đurić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
The Institute’s Annual Award for 2024, which is given to an employee who has achieved exceptional results throughout the year, was awarded to Milica Vraneš-Ilić.
Congratulatory messages on the Institute’s Day were sent by Ana Brnabić, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, the President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and Prof. Michael Licari, President of Austin Peay State University in the United States of America, in which they acknowledged the Institute’s contribution to the study of international relations and its significance for Serbian science and international cooperation.
For successful cooperation between the Faculty of International Relations and Security of the Union-Nikola Tesla University, Certificate of Appreciation was awarded by the Dean Prof. Dr. Violeta Talović to Prof. Dr. Branislav Đorđević, Director of the Institute.
The artistic program of the Ceremonial Academy was performed by students of the Music School “Dr. Vojislav Vuckovic“, under the direction of Ms. Slađana Torbica, the school’s principal.
The official part of the Ceremonial Program concluded with a video presentation about the Republic of Serbia.
