H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Serbia, delivered a lecture “Russo-Serbian bilateral relations in the current geopolitical circumstances”. Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko referred to the politics of the West towards Russia, the partnership with Belarus, as well as the importance and future perspectives of BRICS.
The Ambassador assessed relations between Russia and Serbia as reliable and long-term. Russia, as a permanent member of the Security Council, is committed to principles of the UN Charter. As such, it provides support for Serbia regarding the Kosovo issue. Russia supports the European path of Serbia and its ambitions towards membership in the European Union. H.E. Mr. Botsan-Kharchenko spoked about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized the position of Russia regarding the principles of Dayton Agreement.
The lecture gathered numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps, media, scholars, IIPE researchers and media.
