Researchers from the Institute of International Politics and Economics participated in the international conference “National Interest(s) in World Politics,” held at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. Four associates from the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies and the Centre for Neighbouring and Mediterranean Countries presented their research on January 26th, the second day of this international event.
Dr. Žaklina Novičić participated in a panel titled “National Interest of Serbia – Internal and External Aspects.” On this occasion, Dr. Novičić highlighted relevant changes in the structure of the European Union related to contemporary conflicts over sovereignty, constitutional identities of states, and the ideology of legalism.
Dr. Marina Kostić Šulejić, a research fellow at the Centre for Neighbouring and Mediterranean Countries, participated in the panel “National Interests of the Republic of Serbia in the Regional Context.” Dr. Kostić Šulejić and Dr. Marian Karagyozov from the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presented their co-authored research “National Interests of Serbia and Bulgaria after major adverse events: between continuity and change.”
Dr. Aleksandar Jazić, a senior research fellow at the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies, presented the results of the research “Serbia’s Cooperation with the Visegrad Group states after 2000” within the panel “National Interests of the Republic of Serbia in the Regional Context.”
Dr. Miloš Petrović, a research fellow at the Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies, participated in the panel “European Integration and the National Interest of Serbia.” Dr. Petrović presented a paper on the impact of the absence of foreign policy strategy on European integration and Serbia’s international position
