The delegation of the Institute, consisted of Prof. Branislav Đorđević, director, and Dr. Ivona Lađevac, deputy director, stayed in Beijing from October 29 to November 3, 2023. On that occasion, the delegation visited several leading Chinese institutes and participated in the Ninth China-CEEC High-level Think Tanks Symposium.
During a visit to the Euro-Asian Social Development Research Institute of the Development Research Center of the State Council of People’s Republic of China, and after discussing current issues of international relations, Prof. Branislav Đorđević and Dr. Li Yongquan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two institutions.
Existing international crises were also the topic of a conversation held during separate meetings held with the top management of the Chinese Instituteс for Contemporary International Relations, led by Vice President and Director Dr. Zhang Jian, the recent ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade, Ms. Chen Bo, who is now the President of the Chinese Institute of International Studies and H.E. Mrs. Maja Stefanović, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the PR China.
The delegation ended its stay in Beijing by participating in the Ninth China-CEEC High-level Think Tanks Symposium, which gathered about a hundred domestic and foreign participants. Among the high political officials were Borut Pahor, Đorđe Ivanov and Mladen Ivanić, former presidents of the Republic of Slovenia, North Macedonia and the Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The symposium was held in four panels, and Professor Đorđević and Dr. Lađevac participated in the panel dedicated to the implication of geopolitical changes on cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
During his stay in Beijing, Professor Đorđević gave an interview for the academic journal of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, “Chinese Social Sciences Today”.
