Dr. Nenad Stekić, a Research Fellow at the Institute of International Politics and Economics, participated the 3rd edition of Bauhinia International Forum held in Hong Kong. The forum was organized by the prestigious “Bauhinia Group” publisher of the magazine “Bauhinia”. This year’s forum focused on the theme “The Belt and Road Initiative: Decade of achievements and prospects of high-quality development”. Academic researchers from nine countries, along with representatives from Chinese state authorities, Hong Kong city authorities, and various chambers of commerce from countries involved in the “Belt and Road” Initiative, convened in Hong Kong to participate the event.

Dr. Stekić contributed to round table discussion within the Forum, which covered political, technological, cultural, and economic aspects concerning the future development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative. He presented the significant achievements and benefits that the Republic of Serbia has garnered through its involvement in the Initiative over the past ten years. Additionally, he explored potential future patterns of Chinese global leadership in terms of politics and security, while also discussing opportunities to enhance research collaboration and people-to-people mobility between Serbia and the People’s Republic of China. Notable speakers at the panel included Meng Shusen, President of China Unicom Global Limited, Chiu Yu Lok, Chairman of the Association for the Development of Cooperation in the Field of Culture in the Belt and Road Countries, and Dr. Yan Xiaojun, Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Hong Kong, and Director of the Research Hub on Institutions of China.
