Dimitrijević Duško Duško Dimitrijević, Ph.D.
Professorial Fellow

During his career as a researcher Duško Dimitrijević has particularly focused his attention on the research of international public law, international relations, international politics and international organisations. So far, he has published over a hundred of research papers in prominent domestic and foreign journals as well as five monographs. He was Editor of several outstanding thematic international and domestic proceedings. He delivered lectures at post-graduate studies of the Faculty of Law and at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On several occasions he was a member of PhD and LLM defence commissions at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Belgrade, respectively. He is a member of the Association of Lawyers of Serbia and the United Nations Association of Serbia. He actively participates in the work of the International Law Association of Serbia as a branch of the world International Law Association. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the oldest national journal in the field of international relations – Međunarodni problemi and a member of the Editorial Board of The Review of International Affairs. Dimitrijević is Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Evorpsko zakonodavstvo.
In the 2006-2007 period Duško Dimitrijević performed the duties of Assistant Research Director of the Institute. From 2008 to 2009 he assumed office as Acting Director, while from 2009-2014 he acted as Director of the Institute. He was head and a member of several research projects. He was head of the project of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of Serbia No. 149002D entitled Serbia and contemporary world – prospects and ways for strengthening of the foreign policy, security and foreign economic position of Serbia in the contemporary processes in the international community, being a part of the programme of fundamental research for the 2006-2010 period. During 2010, on behalf of Institute of International Politics and Economics and in co-operation with the European Institute from Sofia he had co-ordinated the European Union’s project Debating Serbia's European future - the voice of civil society in decision making. Since 2012 together with the Institute of Economics from Moscow he has co-ordinated the project entitled Arrangement of trade and investment relations between Russia and Serbia within the international co-operation established between the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dimitrijević is a member of the team of Institute of International Politics and Economics from Belgrade and the Institute of World Economics and Politics from Beijing working on the project entitled Economic relations between China and South-Eastern Europe. At present, he is head of the project of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia No. 179029 entitled Serbia in contemporary international relations: Strategy development trends and strengthening of Serbia’s position in international integration processes – foreign policy, international economic, legal and security aspects, being a part of its fundamental studies.

Pero Petrović has been employed at Institute for International Politics and Economics since 2001. His main areas of academic (scientific) study are: international economic relations, international finance, international marketing and management, economic and regional development, entrepreneurship and tourism. He was employed at the Institute for the Improvement of Commodity Turnover and the Institute for Foreign Trade as a researcher. As an associate and full professor Petrović was engaged at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (Novi Sad) and the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade (State Universities) as well as at the Faculty of Business Assistance (Novi Sad), the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (Belgrade), the University of Business Studies (Banja Luka) and the European University (Belgrade). He has been the author of 15 and a co-author of 6 scientific monographs. Pero Petrović has delivered over 250 papers at national and international conferences and he has published over 300 scientific articles in national and international journals (12 papers from the SCI and ESCI lists). He is the author of three university textbooks. From 1985 to 2015 he has been engaged in fundamental projects funded by the Ministry and at one time Petrović was the head of a macro project. He is a member of the Scientific Council of two journals published by the Institute and is Deputy Chief Editor of “Međunarodni problemi”. Pero Petrović is also a member of editorial boards of 6 national and international journals. He is an associate member of the Scientific Association of Economists of Serbia and Deputy President of the Board of the Institute. He was a two-term member of the Parent Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Serbia.
Pero Petrović earned his PhD from the Faculty of Economics, University of Novi Sad (1994), MBA degree from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade (1982), from where he had graduated, too (1978). Taking academic positions since 1985 on several occasions he was President of the Scientific Council. He speaks French and some English and Italian.

Petrović Dragan Dragan Petrović, Ph.D.
Professorial Fellow

Dr. Dragan Petrović joined Institute of International Politics and Economics where he works as the Professorial Fellow is Russia and post-soviet space as well as France. Petrović is a visiting professor at the State University of Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), and a member of the Editorial Board of scientific journal Вестник. Petrović had worked at the Institute for Political Studies in Belgrade, where he explored the political system, international political relations and the political, economic and cultural history.
He graduated from the University of Belgrade: Faculty of Economics (1999), Faculty of Philosophy (Sociology and History, 2000), and at the Faculty of Political Science (2002). He earned his MA in Economic Geography (University of Belgrade) by defending thesis Development and deployment of industry in Belgrade in 19th and 20th century (2003), as well from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade (Department of International Relations), where he defended thesis French-Yugoslav relations during the Algerian War 1952–64. (2008).
Petrović holds PhD in Political Geography with thesis Russia in the early 21st century: A geopolitical analysis (2007) earned from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Novi Sad. In 2015 Petrović defended his second dissertation at the Department of History at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, with thesis titled Yugoslav political public and USSR from 1922–41.
Up to now, he authored over 120 papers in international and domestic scientific journals, conference proceedings, collection of papers, and lexicographic encyclopedia units. He authored 31 books and co-authored Romanian population in Vojvodina, within the Serb-Romanian relations (2015, in English).

Todić Dragoljub Dragoljub Todić, Ph.D.
Professorial Fellow

Dragoljub Todić joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2012, where his main areas of academic interest include environmental law and Policy, EU environmental policy and law, EU integration, Sustainable Development, international law, EU law, public administration, human rights and migration law. He was professor at the Faculty of Public Administration and Management (now the Faculty of Law, Public Administration and Security), and the Faculty of International Economics, Megatrend University in Belgrade (2001-2012). Before that he had worked in the former federal state administration dealing with environmental issues. He is a member of the Editorial Board of IIPE journals – Evropsko zakonodavstvo and Review of International Affairs. In addition, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Asian Social Science (Toronto, Canada). Dragoljub Todić was the Executive Editor of Review of International Affairs (2013). He is a member of the Serbian International Law Association and several non-governmental organizations dealing with environmental issues and European integration. Dragoljub obtained his PhD in international law from the Faculty of Law Belgrade University, (2001), where he had previously earned his MA degree (1991). He had graduated from the Faculty of Political Science (Department of International Relations). He has authored several monograph books, two textbooks and more than a hundred and fifty articles and other short papers.

Antevski Miroslav Miroslav Antevski, Ph.D.
Senior Research Fellow

Miroslav Antevski joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2003, while he had previously been employed at export/import companies. Antevski had graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade in 1983 and post-graduated from the same faculty in 2001. Miroslav defended his PhD dissertation on “The Policy and Development of Regional Economic Integration in Europe since Early Nineties” at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade in 2007.
His main research areas are as follows: international economics and trade, regional economic integration, FDI, Eurasian economy.

Đorđević Branislav Prof. Branislav Đorđević
Associate Professor

Professor Branislav Đorđević was appointed Director of Institute of International Politics and Economics in January 2015. The main field of his research interest is international security. He is editor-in-chief of IIPEʼs journal – International Problems, the oldest academic journal in the Balkans dedicated to IR. He defended his doctoral thesis Modern Serbia′s Military Thought as the Outcome of Contemporary War Skills at the Military Academy in Belgrade (1999), where he had also obtained his MA (1991) and BA (1981).
Up to 2007 Professor Đorđević was a professional military officer and he ended his military career as colonel. He was director of the Institute of Strategic Studies at the Serbian Ministry of Defence, a member of the cabinet of the Chief of the General Staff, and also served as a troop officer in the Yugoslav National Army. He completed the School of National Defence (General Staff level) in 2000. During his academic career, Professor Đorđević was Lecturer in Security Studies at the Faculty of Business Studies and Law, Director of Centre for Strategic Studies and Lecturer in the same field at the Academy of Diplomacy and Security, and Director of Institute of New Technologies, Megatrend University, Belgrade.
He authored and co-authored fourteen monographs and dozens of research articles in academic journals and collections of papers. Professor Branislav Đorđević has participated in several domestic and international scientific conferences, round tables, and panel discussions. He has managed a few research projects. For his contribution to military science, he received the Republic of Serbia’s “Dragojlo Dudić” award for 1998 and the “Vojvoda Živojin Mišić” gold medallion for 2001.

Vesić Dobrica Prof. Dobrica Vesić,
Senior Research Fellow

Prof. Dobrica Vesić has been employed at Institute for International Politics and Economics since 2007. In the focus of his academic interests are economics and law, management and marketing, entrepreneurship, privatization and globalization processes.
He had graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade in 1979, passed the bar exam in 1983, completed the postgraduate studies in 1999 and earned his PhD at the Faculty of Management “Braća Karić” in 2000. In 2012, Dobrica was appointed Associate Professor at the Business Academy University Novi Sad, Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management in Novi Sad. He is a member of the Governing Board of Institute for International Politics and Economics. Vesić is Deputy Chief Editor of the scientific journal “Evropsko zakonodavsto”, a member of the Editorial Boards of the scientific journals “Međunarodni problemi” and “The Review of International Affairs”, respectively. He is the author of four monographs in the field of management. He has participated in several international conferences and has published a considerable number of scientific papers in the country and abroad.

Golubović Vidoje Golubović Vidoje, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Vidoje Goubović has been employed at Institute of International Politics and Economics since September 2008. In the focus of his research are the studies of security and the role of diplomacy in maintenance and protection of cultural and historical heritage of Serbia abroad.
Vidoje Golubović defended his PhD at the Faculty of Security, University of Belgrade on the topic “Optimalisation and functional models of protection of population, material and cultural goods in war” (2000).
He had earned his MA in 1990 from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb and graduated in 1980 from the Faculty of Defence and Protection, University of Belgrade.
Vidoje Golubović is the author of several books and numerous articles in the field of maintenance and protection of cultural heritage (old Belgrade, memorials abroad and volunteering in the period after 1918, this especially including volunteers from abroad).
Today, he is engaged as an associate lecturer at the specialist studies of the Faculty of Security. He delivered thematical lectures on cultural heritage at the Faculty of Architecture, the Higher School of Tourism in Belgrade, the Higher Construction-Geodetic School, while he was also teaching at the Higher School of Technics in Novi Sad and the “Visan” Higher School. He has delivered a large number of lectures on cultural heritage in the Republic of Serbia and abroad. Golubović has participated in numerous forums and scientific conferences.
He was awarded several times for his work.

Dujić Ivan Ivan Dujić, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Ivan Dujić joined the Institute of International Politics and Economics (IIPE) in 2004. His main areas of research interest encompass globalisation, national and sub-regional integration processes in the countries of the New World, particularly in Latin America, and compared to the same integration processes in Europe, and Serbia as well. In 2014 Dujić defended his doctoral thesis entitled Simón Bolívar’s Ideas of Latin American Integration through the Prism of Contemporary International Relations, at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. In 2012, he took his MSc degree in Latin American Studies at the School of Social Science (Department of Politics and International Relations), University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom. His MSc degree in Laws he earned at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade (Department of International Public Law and International Relations) in 2008. Dujić authored dozen of research papers published primarily in the IIPE journals as well as two books in Serbian Serbia and the Panama Canal as a Key for the World Order from 1850 to 2000 (2010) and The New World and Europe: From the Beginning of Globalisation Process to Global Financial and Migration Crisis (2017). He is a member of the editorial staff of the journal Međunarodna politika.

Đukanović Anđela Anđela Đukanović, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Anđela Đukanović joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2011. General area of her academic interest are Human rights, especially European human rights standards and practice. She completed her post-graduate studies at the Department of International Law, Faculty of law, University of Belgrade, in 2009. The title of her MA thesis is Prohibition of Retroactive Effect of Criminal Law in Case Law of European Court of Human Rights. She defended her PhD thesis with distinction at the same Faculty, in 2016, on the topic European Standards in Biomedicine – Right to Integrity of the Person.

Jazić Aleksandar Aleksandar Jazić, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Aleksandar Jazić is Research Fellow at the Institute of International Politics and Economics. He joined the Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2011, where his main areas of academic interest include the local self-government, civil protection, propaganda, terrorism, international organisations and public diplomacy.

Aleksandar obtained his PhD on System of Local Self-government in the Visegrad Group States at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade (2012). He had earned his M.A. degree in International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade (thesis: Propaganda in Foreign Policy), and had graduated from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade.

Jazić was co-coordinator of the bilateral project “The impact of EU conditionality to the rights and protection of minorities in Slovakia and Serbia” (2012-2014) conducted by IIPE and the Comenius University from Bratislava, Slovakia. Also, Jazić participated on the project of the Visegrad Group (2011) which final result was book titled Two decades of Visegrad cooperation - selected bibliography V4.

He is the author of dozens of articles on local self-government, civil protection, propaganda, public diplomacy, European Union, terrorism. He was the main editor of proceedings entitled Serbia and European Union - preparations for negotiations on chapters 23 and 24 and co-editor of proceedings entitled Serbia, region and European Union. Besides of scientific articles, Aleksandar is author of three books.

He is in Editorial Board of International Politics (Међународна политика, published in Serbian).

Janković Slobodan Slobodan Janković, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Slobodan Janković is Research Fellow and head of the Centre for Neighbourly and Mediterranean countries at the Institute of International Politics and Economics. He joined the Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2006, where his main areas of academic interest include the Middle East politics, relations between big powers and the MENA region countries, Italian political history, Middle East peace process, borders in the Balkans and on migration trends.

Slobodan obtained his PhD on Obstacles to the Middle East Peace process at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade (2014). He had earned his M.A. degree in Geopolitics and global security at the Faculty of Politics, University La Sapienza in Rome (thesis: Radical Islam in Turkey), and had graduated from the Department of History, Faculty of Letters, University Roma TRE in Rome, Italy.

Janković completed the course for international officers at SIOI (Societa` Italiana per l’Organizzazione Internazionale), with the following thesis: “The Western Balkans in European integrations”. He also completed several seminars and courses: the Summer School on Conflict Management and Negotiation, on Logical Framework Approach, on writing EU project proposals and on Labour Migration Policy and Practice, Belgrade.

Janković gave lectures on Balkan politics, on IR theories and Peace Studies at Faculty of Politics at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, and at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. He gives visiting lectures on the Middle East and Balkan politics at the master in Geopolitica e Sicurezza Globale, Department of Politics of the La Sapienza University, Rome and at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade.

Slobodan was co-coordinator of the IPA project “Debating Serbia's European Future: The Voice of Civil Society in Decision-Making” (2010) conducted by IIPE and the European Institute from Sofia.

He is the author of dozens of articles on Middle East, on Balkan politics and Italian contemporary history; he was the co-editor of proceedings entitled Elements of Serbia’s Foreign Policy Strategy. He is deputy editor of quarterly International Politics (Међународна политика, published in Serbian).

Since 2008 Janković has been a member of the Editorial Board of the monthly Geopolitika, Serbian review of geopolitics and culture. Slobodan is a member of the CSOs the Serbian Scientific Centre and of the Centre for Conservative Studies.

He is proficient in Italian and English and has a good passive knowledge of Russian and French.

Jelisavac Trošić Sanja Sanja Jelisavac Trošić, Ph.D.

Sanja Jelisavac Trošić joined the Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2001, where hers main areas of academic interest include international economic relations, international trade, regional economic cooperation (Western Balkans), intellectual property, WTO and Serbia's accession to the EU. Sanja is Head of International Law and Economics Department and an Editor in Chief of journal Review of International Affairs. Sanja obtained her PhD in Analysis of Modalities of Negotiation Rounds in the GATT/WTO from the Faculty of International Economics of Megatrend University in Belgrade (2013). Previously, in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Belgrade, majored in International Economics, gained the title of Master of Economic Sciences, and at the same Faculty graduated at the Department of Foreign and Domestic Trade. Sanja also completed specialization in the High Administration and Comparative Administration (Corso di Alta specializzazione Administrazione E Comparative Governance), University of Bari, Italy, as well as “Diplomacy and the Internet” at Diplomatic Academy in Malta. She authored the books Negotiations under GATT and WTO and Intellectual Property – International Trade of Intellectual Property Rights and co-authored the book Contemporary International Trade. She published more than 100 papers in national and international journals, thematic proceedings and proceedings from conferences.

Jović-Lazić Ana Ana Jović-Lazić, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Ana Jović-Lazić graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Belgrade in October 2002. At the same Faculty she received her Master's degree and PhD degree. She defended her master thesis entitled: “The European Union and neighbouring countries” in March 2008. Four years later she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Relations of the European Union and the Russian Federation”.
Ana Jović-Lazić works at the Institute of International Politics and Economics, since November 2002. Her main research interests are all aspects of relations between the European Union and neighbouring countries, particularly relations with Russia, the “frozen conflicts” in the South Caucasus and Moldova, the protection of cultural heritage, and so on. She has published at home and abroad and participated at national and international conferences and round tables. She is member of European Movement in Serbia and the Editorial staff of the Institute’s periodicals Međunarodna politika.

Korać Srđan Srđan Korać, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Srđan Korać is Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of International Politics and Economics (IIPE), where he was Head of Department for International Security Studies (2005–6). He joined the Institute in 2006. His main areas of academic interest include international security, ethics in international relations, the political system of the European Union, and Serbiaʼs accession to the EU. He is the Deputy Editor of IIPEʼs journal – International Problems. His research has been focused for a decade and more on anti-corruption and anti-organised crime methodology and policy, and the ethical dimension of the public administration reform in Serbia. He is the Deputy Editor of IIPEʼs journal International Problems, and a member of Editorial Board of two academic periodicals – Administracija i javne politike (published by Institute for Political Studies, Belgrade), and Human Security (Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade).
In 2010–2011, Korać participated in the research project “Environment and Security in the Western Balkans: Risks and Opportunities through Co-operation”, conducted by the Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki. Korać was researcher in the Centre for Security Studies in the field of anti-corruption and anti-organised crime methodology and policy, where he was the Executive Editor of The Security Review (2007–2012), an academic journal dedicated to the soft security issues, as well as the Deputy Editor of The Pulse (2002–2006), a journal on corruption. He contributed three chapters to the first handbook on corruption published in Serbian – Korupcija (2005); he coedited the collection of papers Corruption and Development of the Modern Serbian State (2006, in Serbian).
Srđan holds his PhD in Public Administration Ethics at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, where he had earned his MA degree in European Studies, and had graduated from the Department of International Relations. He completed specialisation in Peace Studies, a 1-year undergraduate programme in resolving conflicts and negotiation organised by Group “Bridge” and Anti-War Action Center (now Center for Peace and Democracy, Belgrade).

Novaković Marko Marko Novaković Ph.D.

Marko Novakovic joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2009. He completed undergraduate and master studies at Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, at the same faculty he defended with distinction his PhD thesis “Legal Status of International Civil Servants”. His areas of research include dimplomatic and consular law, human rights and theory of international law. He published series of articles on these subjects. He edited several collections of papers and among them stands out „Basic Concepts of Public International Law – Monism & Dualism”, that featured over 50 authors from 30 countries, and with late professor Detlev Vagts of Harvard University as reviewer. He is secretary-general and co-founder of Serbian International Law Assocation. He is member of Executive Council of International Law Association, London and Associazione degli Studiosi di Diritto Internazionale ed Europeo, Rome. From 2013. he has been Corresponding Editor of International Legal Materials, journal published by American Society of International Law and member of editorial board of journal Archive for Social and Legal Sciences. Marko spent one month working as visiting researcher at LMU, Munich, and has been awarded scholarship of The Hague Academy of International Law. He is working as lecturer and coordinator of Regional Academy on the United Nations, Vienna.

Novičić Žaklina Žaklina Novičić, Ph.D.

Žaklina Novičić joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2001. Her main area of academic interest are theories of international politics. She obtained her PhD with a thesis on liberal theories of war and peace from the Faculty of Political Science in Belgrade, from where she had previously graduated and earned her MA with a thesis on neorealism as a theory of international politics. She has translated one and published several books and numerous scientific papers on theoretical issues as well as on current international problems. She has participated in numerous international conferences, meetings and projects in Serbia and abroad. The Serbian Ministry of Science awarded her for her scientific contribution in 2003-4.

Radaković Milovan Milovan Radaković, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Milovan Radaković joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2011, where his main areas of academic interest include the European Union, the Balkans, military issues, theories of international relations and international cultural affairs. Milovan is a member of the Editorial Board of the IIPE’s journal Međunarodna politika. He received his PhD (National Identity and the European Union) from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, where he had also earned his M.Sc. (The process of Formation of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Milovan had graduated from the same Faculty, at the Department of International Relations, with the paper entitled Cyprus Problem in the Context of Greek-Turkish Relations. Milovan participated in the 1992 Halki International Seminar – “Cooperation and Security in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Balkans”, organised by Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). He participated in seminar “First School on European Law” held on Zlatibor mountain (Serbia) in 2000. Before joining the Institute, Radaković had worked as an analyst in several ministries of the Government of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Government of Serbia and Montenegro as well as of the Serbian Government. In parallel, he was a part-time associate of Institute of International Politics and Economics. He authored three books as well as a dozen of academic papers dealing with international relations. Milovan is a member of Serbian Association for Political Science.

Trapara Vladimir Vladimir Trapara, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Vladimir Trapara joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2011. His main fields of academic interest are relations between Russia and the United States, Serbian foreign policy, and international relations theories. Vladimir is the Secretary of the IIPE's journal Međunarodna politika. He earned his PhD degree in 2015 at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, with thesis "Russian Federation-United States of America Relations from 2009 to 2012 - Time of 'Reset'". Before this, he graduated at the same faculty in 2006 as the best student in the generation, and in 2009 he finished his postgraduate studies.

Vasić Nenad Nenad A. Vasić, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Nenad Vasić joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2014, where his main areas of academic interest are South-Eastern Europe, EU Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy as well as international relations, public diplomacy, lobbying, theory of conflict, crisis management and peaceful resolution of crises. He was researcher at the Institute of Serbian Culture in Leposavić. Nenad was demonstrator at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. As an independent consultant he was occasionally engaged in two Governments of the Republic of Serbia, a multinational and national company and a bank. He was also engaged in the analytical team of the Belgrade Media Centre. He is the author of two monographs, co-author of a monograph and several research papers. Nenad holds two PhDs. In 2010, he had defended his first doctoral dissertation in the field of diplomacy at the private Faculty of Culture and Media, Megatrend University, Belgrade. It was entitled Cultural diplomacy in Serbia at the beginning of XXI century. Nenad Vasić defended another one in 2014 in the history of international relations, Balkan studies and political science at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, on the topic National state in political ideas of a “Greater Serbia” and “Greater Albania”.

Vučić Mihajlo Mihajlo Vučič, Ph.D.

Mihajlo Vučić joined the Institute of International Politics and Economics (IIPE) in 2011, where his main area of academic interest include the jurisprudence of the International Court of Justice and other international dispute settlement bodies, International Environmental Law (with focus on the environmental protection of international watercourses), Sustainable Development and legal aspects of the European Integration. Mihajlo graduated from the Faculty of Law University of Belgrade in 2008. with flying colours. He got his LL.M. degree in Public International Law at the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2009. where he finished courses on International Law and Politics (mentor Martti Koskenniemi), International Environmental Law (mentor Catherine Mackenzie), International Law on the Use of Force (mentor Christine Gray) and Settlement of the International Disputes (mentor James Crawford). He obtained another LL.M. degree, this time in European Integration Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade in 2010, with the master thesis „Legal Framework of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy“ (mentor Branko Rakić). He obtained his PhD degree with distinction at the same Faculty in June 2015 (mentor Milenko Kreća), on the topic „The Law of Non-Navigational Uses of the International Watercourses in Light of the Concept of Sustainable Development“. Mihajlo co-authored a monograph book titled „European Union and the Globalisation – an Alternative View“ and published great number of articles in Public International and European law fields. He co-edited the collection of papers „Settlement of Open Issues between Successor States of SFR Yugoslavia“ and worked as the technical editor of the IIPE’s journal Review of International Affairs. Currently he is a technical editor of International Problems, the oldest IIPE journal. He is a founding member of the Serbian branch of the International Law Association. He speaks English, French and German language.

Vuković Nebojša Vuković Nebojša, Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Vuković Nebojša joined the Institute for International Politics and Economics in August 2016. His main areas of academic interests are geopolitics, geostrategy, political geography, American global strategy, conflicts in the Balkans, foreign policy of the Russian Federation. Vuković obtained his doctor’s degree at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade, in 2011 with focus on theoretical directions in Russian geopolitical thought. Nebojša earned his Master’s degree at the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, in 2006, with thesis on theoretical work of Nicholas Spykman. He graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad in 1998. He worked as a Philosophy teacher in secondary schools until 2016. Nebojša Vuković authored monographic study The Logic of an Empire: Nicholas Spykman and contemporary American Geopolitics and a dozen of research papers in the fields mentioned above.

Jelica Gordanić joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2014, where her main areas of academic interest include human rights, international organizations law and European law. She is the Secretary of the IIPE’s journal Review of International Affairs and an assistant to Coordinator of the Ambassadorial Forum. Jelica is PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, where she earned her MA degree with the thesis Impact of regional organizations in resolving international disputes. Jelica authored and co-authored several research papers.

Jeremić Zlatan Jeremić Zlatan, Ph.D.

Zlatan Jeremić has been employed at the Institute for International Politics and Economy since July 2017. He completed his postgraduate military studies in 1995, and received his master's degree at the Military Academy in Belgrade in 2000. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Defense in Belgrade in 2010. From 1995 to 2003, he was a researcher at the Аrt of War Institute, and after the completion of the National Defense School, he was Head of the Department for Security Integration at the Institute for Strategic Studies. From 2008 to 2011 he was Head of Department of Strategy at the Military Academy in Belgrade. As an professor since 2011, he was a lecturer on Strategies, Basics of Military Strategy, Military Strategy; Global, Regional and National Security, Strategic Planning, Military Diplomacy at Bachelor and Master Studies. In the period from 2012 to 2015, he was the Defense Attaché of the Republic of Serbia in Hungary, and since 2015 he has conducted analytical work in the Military Intelligence Agency, MoD, Republic of Serbia. In the period from 2011 to 2017, he worked intensively on the theoretical and applicative aspects of international relations, geopolitics, global and regional security, crisis hotspots, and the theory and practice of intelligence-analytical work. He has published over 20 works, has participated in 9 scientific meetings with works and was engaged in 12 projects. He is the author of a prominent monograph of national significance, the History of Art of War, which was awarded with the Wisdom of the Wisdom awаrd.

Jončić Miloš Miloš Jončić, Doctoral student
Research Associate

Miloš Jončić joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2011. His main areas of academic interests are international position of civilians, wounded, sick, and prisoners of war in armed conflict, law of armed conflict and international security systems. Miloš is currently doing his dissertation in international humanitarian law at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, where he graduated at the Department of International Law. He has completed several courses in special scientific areas. Miloš has participated at several conferences dealing with international law and international relations, and was in Organising Committee of dozen of scientific conferences and round tables at the Institute of International Politics and Economics. Jončić was co-editor of the collection of papers Serbia’s Foreign Policy and the European Union Common Foreign and Security Policy.

Lađevac Ivona Ivona Lađevac, M.A.

Ivona Lađevac joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2001. She is Coordinator for international cooperation and projects and also a Secretary of one of the IIPE’s journals – International Problems. Ivona graduated and earned her MSc. Degree at the Faculty of Political Science, Belgrade University (Department of International Relations), while currently she is Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Security Studies, Belgrade University. Ivona also completed specialisation in the European Union as well as seminars on Strengthening Capacities of Serbian Administration for EU Accession, Labour migration policy and practice in the Western Balkans, Cross - Border Institution Building, Preparing EU project proposals and attended United Nation’s 30th Annual Session ‘International Challenges to Peace and Security in the New Millennium’.
Ivona was co-coordinator of the EU funded project “Debating of Serbia’s European future: the voice of civil society in decision making” realized by European Institute from Sofia and IIPE in 2010/2011.
She has participated in many international conferences and is the author of numerous scientific papers, co-editor of several collections of conference proceedings. Her main interests are international relations, with emphasis on the relations between China and Russia, as well as cooperation in the forum 16 + 1, as part of the implementation of the One belt, One road Strategy, international law and EU law.
Fluent in English, possess good knowledge of French and currently learning Chinese language.

Dušan Proroković joined the Institute for International Politics and Economics in March 2017. His main areas of academic interest are geopolitics, international and regional security and international relations. Dušan finished his master studies at Faculty for International Relations and Public Affairs in Prague (Czech Republic) at the Department for International Affairs and Diplomacy. Doctoral degree obtained at the Faculty for Political Science and International Relations, Department for International Relations and Diplomacy, at Slovak state Universitas Matthiae Belli in Banska Bystrica. He is PhD candidate at the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade. Dušan has authored three books: Kosovo: Interethnic and Political Relations (2011), Geopolitics of Serbia: Position and Perspectives at the Beginning of 21st Century (2012), and The Balkans and Middle European Continentalism (2014).

Stevan joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in 2008, where his main areas of academic interests include: international economic relations, World Trade Organization, foreign direct investments, local economic development, international trade and energy market in Europe. In 2017 he completed PhD studies at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, with doctoral thesis The Role of Foreign Direct Investment in Local Economic Development in the Republic of Serbia (2001–2013). Stevan earned his Master Degree in Economics in 2011, at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade, and holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations (2007) from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. Stevan authored numerous research papers at home and abroad. He completed seminars of UNCTAD and World Bank, and has participated in several international conferences. Stevan authored а book World Trade Organization and Foreign Trade Enterprises published in 2013 by Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade.

Nevena Stanković joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in November 2009, where her main areas of academic interest include the European Union institutional structure and EU foreign policy. Nevena earned her M.A. degree at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, Department of International Relations. Dragana Dabić joined Institute of International Politics and Economics in March 2016, where her main area of academic interest include the characteristics of political and institutional system of the European Union, theories of European integration, as well as the relations between the European Union and the United Kingdom. Dragana is currently a PhD student (Department of International and European Studies) at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. At the same Faculty, she has completed her undergraduate studies in international relations and master studies in European integrations. The topic of her master thesis is "The ability to manage the institutional crisis of the European Union". She is the author of several articles published in scientific journals that mainly deal with current issues facing the EU, such as the Eurozone crisis and its role in the Ukrainian crisis.
