The main objective of the project is to involve the civil society organisations of Serbia into public debate over the EU integration process of the country and improve their capacity to influence the formulation of public policy and decision making at local, national and international level through meaningful dialogue and advocacy.
The specific objectives of the project are:
enhance civil society organisations’ awareness of top EU integration related issues such as regionalisation, in the light of resolving concrete problems that are specific to the different regions;
stimulate the voicing of problems, views and civil society organisations’ own decisions;
master mechanisms for participation in the formulation of public policy and policy analysis at local/national level based on the solidarity in solving particular community issues;
develop civil society organisations’ communication and advocacy skills to win public support for their causes;
build up sustainable contacts among civil society organisations in the region at debates for common solution of problems and joint implementation of various initiatives.
The target group of the project comprises representatives of civil society organisations, public administration officials and local/regional/national decisions makers, representatives of the research/academic community, young people, etc. in six locations: Vranje, Novi Sad, Čačak, Novi Pazar, Zrenjanin and Belgrade.
The main activities comprise: research to identify topics for regional debates; meeting on the findings of the research and a workshop in Sofia; development of a scenario, methodology and agenda for debates and information sessions; organization of 6 regional information sessions followed by 6 regional debates; 6 online forums and creation of a blog to monitor the process of EU integration in Serbia; development of publication and visualization of project activities.
