International Scientific Conference

An Exhibition The Scientific Conference "The Dayton Agreement - Two Decades of Peace and Lessons for the World" was held at the Institute of International Politics and Economics, on November 19th 2015. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Sciences, Banja Luka and the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade. The opening remarks were given by Mr. Nenad Kecmanović, PhD, Faculty of Political Sciences, Banja Luka, Mr. Mlađen Cicović, Director of the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade and prof. Branislav Đordjević, director of the Institute of International Politics and Economics. Within ceremonial part, Mr. Milorad Dodik, President of the Republic of Srpska, gave the keynote speech, addressing the current controversies regarding the Dayton Agreement. Referring to the increasing demands for a revision of the Dayton Agreement, Mr. Dodik stressed the importance of return to "original" Dayton, as a way of preventing from centralization and unitarization of BiH. The Conference aimed at scientific observing the status of the Republic of Srpska, two decades after the Dayton Agreement. The conference presented 29 research papers related to historical and international significance of Dayton constitutional design of BiH, nominal and real authority of the High Representative, the European perspective of the Republic of Serbian and BiH, etc.
