Marina Kostić, IIPE researcher, participated in the 19th Summer Seminar for Young Public Policy Professionals from Southeastern Europe and the Black Sea Region, organised by the Economic Policy Institute from Sofia under the title “Public Policy Challenges – European and Regional Dimensions”. The seminar was held in Albena (Bulgaria), from 28 May to 1 June 2018, with the support of the Bulgarian Presidency of Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Central European Initiative and the Austrian Embassy in Sofia. The seminar was attended by a large number of representatives from the ministries of finance, economy, defense, foreign affairs, European integration and public administration, as well as several academic institutions from the countries of the Southeastern Europe and the Black Sea region. On this occasion, on behalf of the Director of the Institute prof. Dr. Branislav Đorđević, Marina bestowed Proceedings published by the Institute for International Politics and Economics “Kosovo: sui generis or precedent in international relations” on Yasen Georgiev, executive director of the Institute for Economic Policy; Dr. Klaus Fiesinger, regional director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation for South-East Europe and Victor Bojkov, advisor at the Directorate General for Neighbourhood, Enlargement and Accession Relations (DG NEAR) of the European Commission. Topics of this year's Seminar were related to the position of the Southeast Europe and the Black Sea region in a wider EU context; European identity; future scenarios for development of the EU and its consequences for the region; political, economic and security challenges in Europe; the impact of China on the Southeast Europe, the labor market and economic development, digital transformation and the public policy of Southeastern Europe and the Black Sea region in general.
