Celebrating 70 Years – Institute of International Politics and Economics

On December 8, 1947, the then President of Yugoslavia Marshall Tito signed a decree to approve the formation of Institute of International Politics and Economics (IIPE). Seventy years later, the Institute marked the jubilee by giving reception attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Diplomatic Corps, as well as the academic and research community. The opening addresseswere delivered by Professor Branislav Đorđević, Director of the Institute, and Professor Zoran Jeftić, President of the IIPE Governing Board. In a series of letters of congratulations and good wishes received by the Institute's management from public authorities of the Republic of Serbia, foreign embassies to Serbia, and partner research institutions and universities, the letter of congratulationsfrom Dr. Huang Ping, Director of the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing and the President of the Institute “China–Central and Eastern Europe”, was introduced to the reception guests. During the ceremony, Jubilee Letter of Gratitude was presented posthumously to the family of the late Professor Milan Šahović, a doyen of Serbian international law experts and director of the Institute (1972–1977, 1985–1988). Books, conference proceedings, collection of papers, and the issues of the IIPE’s journals published in 2017 were displayed in the Great Hall during the reception.
